Question
Hi- I have a 3 month old boxer puppy that was given to me from my parents-She has been wormed and had some of her shots, and appears healthy except for skinny looking. She eats all day, everyday. I used to breed BFKC pitbulls and they kind of did this but not like Ginger. I am feeding her Purina puppy chow and old roy High maintenance mixed together, and she loves it.You can see her ribs when she stands, but not prominitely, and her back is rounded. Is this normal? She weighs about 25 lbs. thank you

Answer
Boxer puppies grow at different rates, but a little skinny is better than a little heavy.  They will go through phases where they look like walking skeletons, and then phases where it looks like their skin is hanging off of them.  Seeing the ribs is not especially concerning - if the hips and spine are prominent, then you want to put some weight on her.  Once she's matured, you'll ideally just want to see the outline of the last 2-3 ribs, and when you feel her sides, they should feel like the back of your hand.

If you want to consider changing to a higher quality food - you'll feed less, and she'll use more of it so will have less waste - there's a good site to review a number of different foods here:
