Our Beagle KC

Question
Our 3 year old beagle KC (male) started throwing up about a month ago.  He's been to the vet twice, and now in for an IV treatment.  The vet was concerned about too much protein spilling into the urine.  He's been on the IV for three days, and was still throwing up a good deal this morning.  I think the vet now thinks perhaps parvo or a viral infection, or something to do with his kidneys.  He also had bloody diarreah today.  We are heartsick.  This can't be happening to our three year old spunky friend.  Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I'm KC's aunt.  My poor sister has been through the ringer.
Thanks in advance for your help!!!!!!

Answer
Hi Maureen!

I highly recommend that you get a second opinion! Was your KC tested for diabetes? Vomiting and diareah are common symptoms of diabetes in canines, and if this is the case he must be treated with daily injections of insulin. Please, please get a second opinion, there are other illnesses that can be cause poor KC to be so ill and please let me know how he makes out!!!

I hope this is helpful! Sending wagging tails your way!
