Question
Lisa, I'm in the process of adopting 2 cats.  I am confused over the feeding issues.  Some say to give dry and wet food ..and some say to add fresh ground turkey (frozen first and then thawed). How do I know what's best?  I'm not up to "BARF" diet.

Thank you

Answer
most national brands have all the vitamins and minerals they need. if they are kittens you will want to buy a dry food specially for kittens such as KittenChow by purina. if they are adults, pick one that sounds yummy to you.read the box, it will tell you how much to feed them according to their weight. if they are adults you will want to leave dry food available all day, because they eat small amounts several times a day. wet food can be fed as a treat once or twice a week. some people feed both dry and wet daily. but my vet told me that too much wet food can rot their teeth. so i give it twice , sometimes 3 times a week..
