Hip displaysia

Question
I don't know if I spelled that right. I have a very large manx/maincoon cat. He's fixed and he's 6yrs old. This year he seems to be walking with his back legs, (from the hip on down), turned out, and the hip area seems to bother him a little bit. It seems to be getting more pronounced as time goes by. I've heard that manx cats are prone to this kind of ailment. And other things that effect the tailbone area, the lower spine, and the colon. Is there a fix for the hip problem?  Thanks, Yvonne

Answer
Yvonne,

Hip displaysia is also a Maine Coon problem.  The best thing for you to do is to get your cat to a vet and see what is really going on and what a reasonable course of treatment may be.

As my bio states, I am not a vet and feel uncomfortable answering veterinary questions.

Best regards... Norm
