My cat leaves stains on eveything!!!

Question
Hi, thanks for responding. I think she is scared because she was so out of it when we found her, vet said she was about 6 months old, that my husband, myself, and the inside of the house are all she knows. I can't even describe her reaction to the outdoors. I have never sean an animal act like that before. My question is this, by forcing her out in a cage and take her to the vet, a stranger, leave any emotional scars with her? She is a very loving cat, but if anyone but us are in the house we can't even pick her up. She even hates the doorbell!! Is there anything the vet can give to calm her down before we leave the house? I really am worried that she will be harmed emotionally from a trip to the vet. thanks again, Lynda

-----Question-----
Hi, My cat in general seams to be very particular about her litter habits but seams to have a problem cleaning herself and when she sits she leaves wet (poopie) stains n everything. any suggestions
Also, we found her almost dead on the road and brought her home, the vet said she had a severe concussion and prescribed her meds.It has been 3 years now and  she has recovered wonderfully, BUT she is constantly begging for food. We can't eat anywhere near her :) Will she ever get over the idea that ever measl is her last? Also she hates everthing about going outside ( I tried to take her out once and she ending up going crazy and swam totally across our lake) so how do you take a cat to the vet who hates out doors without making it a tramatic experience. thanks for your advice, Lynda

Hi Lynda!
You need to get a small crate or carrier for your cat.  Any pet shop or pet supply place will have them.  Walmart sells them for under $20.00 for a cat.  It is safe and they feel secure.
I'm not sure what to tell you about the stains on everything.  That is certainly not normal. I wonder if she may have loose bowels due to parasites.  You may want to have her checked. It may have something to do with muscle damage due to her accident also.
In my opinion, cats should stay indoors. They live much longer and will be much healthier. If your cat is scared to go outside, then I wouldn't make her go out. She is probably scared because of the accident she was in.  There is also the danger of dogs, fleas, disease and poisoning.
As far as her begging goes, good luck!  I have four cats, two of which are major beggars!!  I don't know how to break them. They act like they've never been fed or as you said "their last meal".  LOL   I wish you luck on breaking that habit.
God Bless,
Becky

Answer
Lynda,
If she is that scared, then I would talk to the Vet ahead of time and see if he will give you a mild sedative for her.  Most cats get scared going to the Vet. Mine don't like it and they're scared too, but it doesn't cause any permanent emotional problems.  They are fine as soon as I get them home.  In your cats case though, since she has already been through so much... poor thing, a sedative may be in order. Talk it over with your Vet.

God Bless,
Becky
