When Female Cats are in Heat, How long does it last?

Usually heats last a week or two, but I have seen females cycle for a couple of days and some that seem to cycle in perpetuity!!!!!  It is extremely variable and can differ not only from cat to cat but with the same cat!

I am sorry I can give you nothing more definitive, but this is what makes breeding them such fun.
