Cat Pawing

Question
Hi we've recently bought a bengal kitten and he is now nearly 5 mths. We went on hols for 2 wks and he went in a cattery however when he came home he's been really affectionate which is really lovely but when I leave him in a room he cries for me and when I sit down he jumps straight back on my knee and climbs up my chest pawing and kneading me for ages and looking straight into my eyes while he purrs.  I think this is him just being affecionate having missed us when we were away but wondered if it was anything sexual - we plan to have him neutured when he is 6 mths old but any advice would be helpful.  Also when he has his food he turns round and paws the floor by his dish I'm just curious as to what this means.  Ilook forward to hearing from you.

Answer
Hi Debbie,

Yeppa, he missed his mom. His kneading and purring are him just regressing a little to kittenhood. Don't worry about it. When he paws at his food this also is an instinct. He is trying to cover his food so no one else can find it. But it's kinda hard doing that with linoleum. :) You have a perfectly normal acting cat there. Good luck.
