Question
Hi!
We have two kittens a male and a female that we received when they were about six weeks old. They are about five months now - we really don't want anymore kittens so when can start thinking about having them spayed and neutered?

Answer
You can have the male done now. generally the standard age is 6 months but if they are together all the time I would not wait. The surgery is more involved for the female and sometimes if if its done prematurely it can happen that some of the tissue is not completely removed properly. So i would get the male done now  at 5 months old, to prevent any accidents, and the female done at 6 months. Do not wait any longer. Thank you for your responsible and loving care of these two kitties.
