balding cat

I have a Hemalayan..I didn't groom/brush her for several weeks...now I as I have started again...her hair is coming out is very big clumps and she has several bald spots...It looks like the knotted hair is pulling the surrounding hair out...Now I am almost finished  getting all knots out...will her hair grow back on the balding spots.

Oh yes, we have all been there!!!!!  What has happened to your Himalayan is perfectly normal under the circumstances.  The matting occurs when the coat is shedding out and the dead coat gets all matted and knotted up.

Spring is almost upon us and her coat will all grow back as if nothing had happened.  It may not grow back for some weeks, but it will all grow back.
