Cat in season

Hi

I have a 8 month old female cat that is definately in season as she is howling for males. Anyway we taped the cat flap closed last night as did not want to disturb the neighbours.
She managed to get out still and has not come home since. She has definately been gone 12 or more hrs.. This is very unlike her the longest she ever stays out is a couple of hrs.

I am rather worried about her but my husband says it could be just that she is out looking for toms. We have search the local area and called her regularly but no luck.

would appreciate any advice

Hi Karen,

Your husband may be right. If she was in heat, she will be looking to find a mate. And she will stay out until she gets pregnant. Leave some food and water for her. Cats usually don't go more than a mile away. She is nearby but is occupied right now. Good luck and let me know what happens.
