Postpartum

Question
My cat gave birth 2 days ago.  She is leaking a watery-bloody substance on the floor.  She has been licking her bottom a lot.  Is this normal?

Hi Lori, Cats do bleed for a few days after delivery but normally you would not see it because it is a small volume and they keep themselves clean. How many kittens did your cat have? Is she staying with them and feeding them and cleaning them.. or is she restless and leaving the box quite a bit? Is she eating normally? Is she meowing more than normal and following you around rather than staying with her kittens? Can you get back to me and then I can give you a better idea whether you should worry..or not.
