Question
What is "wet eye" in cats?

Answer
Hi Beth,

I think what you're referring to is when a cats eye continually "weeps", is that right?  Some breeds, such as Persians, have this condition almost constantly, other cats get it from a blocked tear duct most likely caused by a bout of upper respiratory infection.  As long as the cat appears healthy, is eating and drinking normally and doesn't seem to have excessive weeping from the eye its nothing to worry about.  Just mention it to your vet the next time your cat has its check up.
