Swollen Nipples

My cat had babies 8 weeks ago and yesterday I adopted the kittens out.  Now that she is not feeding her whole belly is hard as a rock, is this normal?

Yes, this is normal.  This is called "packing up", wherein the milk is slowly absorbed from the mammaries now that she is no longer nursing.

Just keep an eye on her.  All should be back to normal 2-3 weeks after the kittens are weaned.  After this amount of time, if she is not getting back to normal, you may want to see your vet.
