Ferile Kitten

Question
Hi Kate,
4 days ago we collected our beautiful litten kitten we have named Jessica.  She was taken to the vet by a farmer and the vet spayed her and put her in a cage on Monday.  We got her home on Tuesday, she's been through a lot and not used to human contact so she was terrified.  Hissing and spitting at us and very stressed.  Over the past few days we've been sitting by her cage and talking to her and have come to realise that she absolutely loves our company.  This morning she has let us put our fingers and and give her a tickle, after the initial hissing!  Changing her little tray and giving her fresh food is a bit of a battle as she goes to the back of the cage, hisses and spits at us but we think that's only because she's frightened.  She's getting to know us and is coming on leaps and bounds every day but we're desperate to let her out and give her a big cuddle.  Any advice and confirmation that we're doing the right things would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks and we look forward to your response.

Answer
Hi
thats great news.
You didn't mention how old you thought the kitten was as it is usually during the first seven weeks of a kittens life that they are the easiest to socialize.
Any way it should be possible to get them  used to use quite easily it just takes a little time and patience.
Please read my pages regarding bonding with your cat and kitten care as they both contain advice about this subject.
Good luck and i wish you many years of happiness together.
