My 4 month old female wont eat

15:56:32

Question
My kitten is about 4, maybe 5 months old. She was eating fine, in fact I thought she ate a lot. I gave he a worm pill not long after I got her. I have tried a couple of brands of dry food and she didn't seem to mind the change. Then a few days ago, she stopped eating. I'm not even sure that she is drinking much water. I have never had a cat that wouldn't eat for this long and I'm very concerned. I don't have much money and vets are expensive. What do you think we can do to help her?
Thank you for your time, Dawn

Answer
Hi Dawn,

She may have a problem. I know vets are expensive but most will work with you on payments. My vet holds post dated checks for me. You should take her to be checked out. This could be a reaction to the worm pill. It could be an intestinal blockage. It could be that she is a little off because of the medicine. It could be something else. The vet will know for sure.

The only other thing that I can suggest is try some canned cat food and see if she will eat some of that. She should be fed some of that along with the dry daily. Cats don't drink much and the water in the wet food will help her. Don't feed any of the semi moist foods. They have too many preservatives in them. Good luck and let me know what happens.
