To young?

Question
Hi Norman! My mom wants to have either one or both of our cats have kittens.<They are both girls.> As I mentioned before, they are both a year old. Is that all right to breed them? Oh, and to anyone reading this, if we do breed them, the kittens will not be up for adoption or anything else. They would be only for family and friends. Thank you Norman!                                                   Melissa

Answer
Melissa,

A year old is plenty old enough for a female to have kittens.

I hope you know what you are getting into by doing this as first litters can be problematic and cause problems for the female.  If all goes well, that is great.  If there are problems it can get expensive and you can possibly lose both mama and the kittens!

Best regards... Norm.
