bad cat!

Question
Mr. Auspitz,
I have a 1 1/2 yr old, fixed male, tabby cat, a 7 year old fixed female cat and a 5 year
old dog.  Everyone gets along well, I had the older cat and dog first.  We brought the
younger cat, Leo, home when he was 8 weeks old and he was neutered as soon as
possible.  The older cat has always run the household, but kindly, the younger cat Leo
soon took control.  He is very aggressive in nature, controlling the other two pets and
also tries to dominate the humans too.  We don't let him get away with it, usual a
spray bottle when he goes into attack mode.  To an extent its funny!  Last night, while
my son was asleep, he decided to go onto his bed and urinate.  I know this is not a
medical, but a behavioral issue.  Why would he do this and how do we make it stop.  Is
it possible that he is angry that our older cat is currently locked in a room while recuperating from an injury?  I've been suggested Prozac for him, but is there a better
way or perhaps something herbal?

Answer
Heather,

Often any change in the household can tick off inappropriate urination habits.  It is possible that your younger cat is upset that the older cat is not there!

Prozac may certainly work.  However, before you try that, I would get a Feliway diffuser (available from most pet supermarkets) and try that in your son's room.

I am, also, giving you a link to a series of article on inappropriate bathroom habits which may have some further suggestions:
