QuestionHi, We adopted Max from the Humane Society. I've been asked my several people "what breed is he?" because, while he looks like a tabby, his markings are flawless and his eyes are huge and almond shaped. The vet said he was a DMH, which suprised me because i thought he was a DSH.
I am attaching pictures of Max.

AnswerHi Allisha. He is a beauty! His face is a little elongated, but the way his eyes are set and his coat pattern remind me of a silver tabby American Shorthair. They're certainly not very common, but aside from DSH, that would be my best guess.
As for the DSH / DMH / DLH issue, it's a matter of personal preference. A lot of people recognize only domestic short hair and domestic long hair, but some also use domestic medium hair. I found that DMH confused a lot of people when working with adoptions, etc., so I opted to drop medium hair and call all the cats either DSH's or DLH's.
