Question
i have two barn cats, brother and sister and the male is getting milk from the female. im not sure how old they are but i know the female was in heat a little after i got them. so my question is is can she make milk if shes not pregnant or do you think she is pregnant? her bellys pretty firm but it hasnt gotten any bigger over the weeks.

Answer
Christina,

The best way to tell if your cat is pregnant, is to check with your veterinarian.  In theory, cats should not be able to make milk if they are not nor have been pregnant.  It is possible her milk came in but she reabsorbed the litter, and, as long as someone is getting milk from her, she will continue to produce it.  I would, in  addition, ask your vet about this.

Please let me know what you find out.

Best regards... Norm.
