Kitten pulling feces out of her litter box

Question
Hi,
I have a 5 month old spayed female kitten and a 2 year neutered male. Recently my female kitten has been in a destructive phase such as: tearing toilet paper and paper towel rolls up, ripping blankets and pills up, and most notably shes heen going to her litters boxes (I have two) and pulling her feces and urine out (I use the clumping scoopable litter) and she plays and kicks it around thr bathroom and into the hallway. I clean the litter boxes every other day, theyre really clean! Plus she has a TON of toys. I dont understand this behavior please help me. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Ariana,

You said it yourself. She is a kitten doing kitten things. You need to clean the litter box twice a day. You will only have to do this for a little while. Nice thing about kittens is that they grow out of their destructive behavior pretty fast. And even if she has a bunch of toys she needs interactive play time. Get a laser pointer and use that. You and her will have lots of fun with that. Throw some crinkle balls for her. Play time helps with her behavior and is great for bond time. You'll see a big change doing that. Good luck and take care.

Ciao, Karen
