Cleanliness

My cat has gone from being clean to disgusting. Since I moved downstairs into another bedroom, she has had full range of the upstairs and barely sees me anyomore. At the same time, she's gone from using the litter box to having her bowel movements in front of my old bedroom door and on the kitchen counter. Is this behavior connected to my moving into the downstairs bedroom?

It sounds as if your cat is unhappy that things were changed around.  Does she have access to the downstairs bedroom? This may be the cause of the problems.

In addition, I would take her to the vet just to make sure there are no medical problems.
