QuestionMy cat has kidney disease and I had him on Royal Canin pouches. They just changed the cat food and my cat hates it and won't eat it. I tried Hills and purina and he throws them up. Is there a good cat food (canned) out there that I can feed him. I don't care if it is the one for kidney problems, i am at a loss what to do. thanx

Hi Pat, Sorry for the delay in answering your question as I have been very ill.
Ok, the only other choice you have is home-cooking for your cat.
VERY easy to do and your cat or cats will LOVE it.
You can put any cat on this recipe.
NEXT -
Diet for the Cat with Kidney Problems
4 parts carbohydrate: Pureed barley flakes and /or baby food "creamed corn"
( more carbs than meat, for cats with UTI and kidney problems )
****Other cats, in the house , can have a little "more" protein in the diet.
2 parts protein: Lightly broiled chicken or beef or you can also use baby food chicken.
( Optional )
1 part vegetable:
vegetable juice-carrots, cooked zucchini, and alfalfa sprouts are best for cats - Make sure zucchini is cut up very small.
Cats do seem to like alfalfa sprouts....
2 teaspoons soft butter
Cook at 350 for 15-20 minutes .
Feed 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup (1-2 x) per day-
Just watch your cat and see how he does on 1/2 cup 2 x per day. If he seems like he needs more then give him 3/4 cup 2 x per day.
AS for treats - look for some Natural Holistic treats - just a few per day-
SEE if you can find some that are lower if fat, if possible.
Also,
NuVET supplement is needed to balance out the recipe and home-cooking:
Give 1/2 teaspoon in the morning and 1/2 teaspoon in the evening.
PLEASE call in and talk to the ladies at NuVET -

They can explain the 60 day money back guarantee and the 15% off discount program. ( use order code 81098 for the discount)
Tell them you are working with Pet nurse Marie on home-cooking for your cat.
You can mix the NuVET into some VERY low fat small curd cottage cheese or some low fat yogurt.
( or just use the home-cooking cat food and mix in...)
Some cats are very smart and that's why we break up the 1 teaspoon into 1/2 teaspoons .... So they don't see the vitamins...
You can see the NuVET Feline Formula here: ( call in to order)

JUST like kids!
( oh, NuVET gives you a TASTE guarantee...
MOST cats will eat the NuVET no Problem....)
