Cat with irregular digestion; cat worms ; special diet cats;

Question
Hi there! I'm hoping you can give me some possible explanations as to why
my cat (about 5 years old) has irregular potty habits. Her bowel movements
seem to have a cycle from normal to runny & very stinky, from month to
month. When they are runny she has a hard time using the box - she'll go
and then before she's done she quickly jumps out of the box and finishes
elsewhere. I think it's the smell. But like I said this is not always the case. It
lasts briefly, then everything is normal again for a while. Her diet is pretty
constant, with dry food in the mornings and wet in the evenings - as it has
been since I brought her home from the shelter. I have another cat who has
the same diet and she doesn't have these problems. Any ideas? Does she
need a special diet?

Doreen, she may need a special diet.  First thing is to get her to the vet and take a poop sample.  I wonder if she has parasite or worms ...Many times We can't see the worms in the stool.
This is not normal, as you know, so please see the vet ASAP.
