Question
Hi there. I recently took in a Himalayan who is pregnant from a Persian. What kinds of kittens could she have? Will they be persians, himalayans, siamese? Not sure how this whole breeding thing works as I am not a breeder. Thank you.

Answer
Dear Marissa

A Himalayan and a Persian are essentially the same sort of cat so you will not get a Siamese.  A Himalayan is the pattern of a Siamese but with a Persian body and coat length.  You can see a Himalayan here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himalayan_(cat)

The kittens may be a mixture in style of the Himalayan and the Persian so you could have some 'pointed' cats or some solid coloured cats.  Here in the UK they would be considered to be full pedigree cats as the two are often bred together.

I wish you good luck with the litter and know you will have many hours of enjoyment with the kittens.
