breeding from a female cat

Question
hi what is the best age to breed from a cat from as this would be her first time and how often do they come in heat ?

Answer
Hi
Ideally I would recommend breeding from a cat at about 10 months and older. It really depends when they come on heat, but whatever I would not recommend starting any breeding programme below the age of 10 months.

Cats can come on heat every three to four weeks for five to seven days at a time.

Pregnancy lasts about 65 days and kittens should not be rehomed until they are about 13 weeks old, and should only be rehomed after having their vaccinations.
