male cat and kittens

my female cat gave birth 2 days ago and today my male cat keeps taking one of the kittens away from the female. it this normal or should i worry that the male will harm the kittens

Answer
I would not punish him, but I would keep him away from the kittens. When they are about three or four weeks old, you can let him visit again with supervision. Right now, they do not need his companionship. They need their mom and privacy for the next few weeks.
Even you should mostly leave them alone.
