QuestionHi,
I am about to purchase a siberian kitten (which i am very excited about!) who will be TICA registered.
Please could you explain the difference between a GCCF and TICA registered cat? I'd like to try to learn as much as i can before i bring my kitty home.
Many, many thanks x
AnswerDear Stephanie
In essence there is no difference but for showing purposes there may be slight differences in the standard. You can find the GCCF standard at this address http://www.siberian-cat-club.co.uk/sop.html and the TICA standard at http://ticaeo.com/content/publications/pages/sb.pdf
As you are no doubt aware, the two registeries are very different with the GCCF being the main UK registry and TICA an American registry which has spread across Europe and is very successful in the UK. Should you wish to show your kitten within the GCCF you will need to register your cat with them and you will need to contact the GCCF http://www.gccfcats.org/contact.html to ensure you have the most current information, though some of the information you will need can be found at http://www.gccfcats.org/import.html
I do hope your Siberian kitten settles in quickly and you have a lot of fun.
Regards
Marcia.
