QuestionHi! I would like to breed my cats in order to produce a white kitten. I have a black male with a white locket and a blue female with a white locket and 2 white spots on her belly. They are brother and sister and they had a solid white sibling who was not available for adoption. If I recall correctly their mother was blue, I am not sure about the father. My question is, do I have a good chance of producing a white kitten?
AnswerHi
It is unlikely that you would get a solid white kitten from this mating as they both have a 'spotting' gene. Any kittens would not be predominately white.
I would strong suggest that you don't mate brother and sister as you would run the risk of birth defects or even possibly losing the whole litter.
Hope this helps.
Marcia.
