Beginning Cat Shows

Hello Ms. Azan,

I have attended many cat shows over the years and am entertaining the idea purchasing an Exotic Shorthair to show, but would like to know some good resources for beginners (books, etc.).  Do you have any suggestions?  I do not want to buy a cat before I know a lot about what to look for, etc.

Hi,
As you know, the Exotic SH is just a shorthaired version of the Persian. If you are not going to breed, but only get a kitten to show as an alter, then the books on the Persian will be fine for your purposes. Just ask the person, from whom you purchase your kitten, for care instructions and advice on showing and grooming. They should be willing to be your guide and mentor.
If you live in the North East or are willing to pay for the shipping, I can recommend some good breeders.
If you are planning to breed as well as show, I can definitely recommend a great breeder or two. So let me know if that is the case.
