Question
Where can I go to get some more information on my pregnant cats. I know she is pregnant this time and I'm not really sure on what websites I can go on and get every piece of information on pregnant cats. This is how I know she is pregnant. She is sleeping alot, I felt her belly and it is getting bigger. And she is eating more than she used to. She is snacking rather than just sitting there for long periods of time. Her nipples are sticking out and are pink on the nipples. Around the nipples it's kinda white and every time I pick her up she whines. She will take a few steps and just lay down she is very active like she was. Are these signs that she is pregnant. She did have a false pregnancy a month ago but she wasn't doing all this stuff when she had it. And she is acting way different now than before. And can you tell me some information or some websites on where to go? It will really get me ready for when she is really to give birth. And I can help her if she needs me to.

Answer
Hi Nikki
You could check this site

It seems your cat may be pregnant according to the signs you have presented.
I would also suggest you ask your vet to palpate her abdoment to see if there is development. He can also confirm the presence of foetus by doing a scan but this is not really necessary.
Now how can you help.
Well you need to be aware her due date and make sure you plan time during the two or three days before and up to five days after just in case she is early or late in her pregnancy. She will begin to nest about thre or four days before her due date so watch for that. Make sure the kittening area is free of danger, make sure she cannot have the kittens in an inaccessible area, don't let her have them under sonething heavy for instance.
Once she shows signs of delivery she will have a small discharge and be wet around her back end. Then she will lay down and start to push. Watch her contractions. The babies may arrive as they should head first but some decide to come feet and tail first and she may need help with these.
Also if she has contractions and then stops she may be suffering from inertia and need medical assistance, so again watch out.
I hope things go well
