Hamster with vaginal Bleeding

Hi Hilary! I have a question about my tiny little hamster. It is a female and shes little, shes gray and has a black stripe down her back. She lives with another hamster,another female, but I just moved her into a small cage alone with no wheel at all because my father said it is probably her period and she is best off without exercise. She is bleeding from her vagina and i was wonderng what this could be. Can you please give lots of suggestions and answers to this as I cannot afford a vet right now. Thank you , Nikki

Hi Nikki!
How is your hamster acting otherwise?  This definitely could mean that she is in heat.  As long as she is eating/drinking and behaving normally, I would definitely feel as though she is simply in heat.  This should only last a few days.
