Strange Cat Behavior

Question
My question is regarding my sister's cat.  My sister recently moved back home with me and our mother.  We had two cats and a dog, until my sister came home with a new cat.  She's wonderful and all the animals get along for the most part... but the new cat was exhibiting behavior none of us has witnessed before.  She takes clothing from the basement, usually a hand towel or a shirt, and carries it in her mouth up the stairs.  While she carries this she meows, most of the time quite loudly.  She then stops, and still with the article gripped in her teeth, she begins to continuously tuck it underneath her body, sometimes repetatively turning in circles.  These little sessions can range anywhere from a few seconds to numerous minutes.  When she is finished she just walks away.   What is she doing to the clothing?  Should we be worried?

Answer
she could be lonely or exhibiting lost baby syndrome. Some cats 'adopt' articles of clothes, socks (mine like socks) etc and cry and carry them all over the house. She needs more attention.

she probably should have an exam and some bloodwork run to be sure she does not have any abnormal elevations.

good luck!
