hearguard

Hi, I gave my dog hearguard on Friday as the Vet instructed. I didn't know that he was supposed to take it monthly, so he hadn't taken it in a long time. Now it is sunday and he is vomiting and his poo is very runny. He ALWAYS eats his food, and now he won't eat. Also, I got the heartguard b/c when I took my other dog in b/c he was doing the same thing the vet asked me if they had been on the heartguard and I said no, and it turns out that he has hookworms. so if the dog in question has hookworms and I gave him heartguard, woudl that make him sick? WHat shoudl I do, its sunday and no vets are open.

As with all medications you can have side effects. BUT since you dog has hookworms, it sounds like the medication did something to purge his system so quick.

Call your vet on monday, but you can give your dog cooked chopmeat and rice for a bland diet for today. :)
