Question
My dog is an 8 yr old beagle. she has been sneezing alot and there is alot of discharge,so much so that we have to follow her where she goes.( no bleeding). she also makes this really weird sound, like there something stuck in her throat. the vet gave me some allergy pill, but didn't help.he said the only way we could see what was wrong is by surgery at the cost of $2,000. PLZ help in any way. i don't know what do do,and i don't have the money.

Answer
Did your vet look up inside of her nose? If he knocks her out he can look way up inside and see if there is something growing in there or if it's just rhinitis, which is like a chronic irritation and allergy. It is not a surgery but an exam under anesthetic. I would have them do that first before you do anything else.
Dogs at this age tend to start growing things and having odd stuff happen so you need to have it looked at thoroughly before you make any decisions. If your vet won't do it call around to another one. The sound in her throat is either from something in there tickling her like the same discharge that is coming out of her nose or she has a growth in there too. More than likely it's the discharge. Most of what she doesn't sneeze out is going to run down her throat and make her gag and choke.
Start calling around for the exam.
I have no other ideas than that and that is what I would do for my dog first.
