Question
Hi there. I've had a cat going on two years old now. Ever since she was little, she's had one ear get real dirty and all, but not the other. She also doesn't seem to be bothered with it. I clean it as often as I can. But it gets dirty all over again. I'm just wondering if its normal or something to be concerned about. I'm buying so ear mite solution tomorrow just to be on the safe side. But please tell me if its something to be concerned about or not. Thank you.

Answer
Yes it is possible that she could have a persistent ear mite infection and if you have not previously treated (or had her treated) for them I would suggest doing so.  Watch carefully for any improvement as it has been a while and may not be quick and easy to resolve if she does have them.

That being said there is definite variation animal to animal and even ear to ear is the waxy accumulation.  If in 7-10 days after trying the solution you do not see any improvement I would suggest having her seen by your veterinarian, just to rule out any potential problems and if none are found she may simply require more attention to that ear because of her own individual nature.

Best of luck to you and your feline friend.
