3yr, 18lb Dog Nose Peeling

18 15:19:15

Question
The top of my dog's nose is dry and peeling and a small area around her nosils have turned from black to a light pink. Her nose runs more than usual, she sneezes occationally several times in a row, and she tends to lick her nose a lot. She is a almost 3 years old, 18lb, Minature Schnauzer / Shiba Inu Mix and so far I have tried Neosporin (not sure if it is working as I just noticed the problem yesterday). Please help me if you can and let me know if there is anything I can try. Thank-you!!!!!

Might I suggest that you see your veterinarian to rule out certain skin diseases.  The peeling might be nothing serious, but there are a few skin diseases that should be discussed with your vet.  If she is licking her nose then she must feel some sort of irritation and it should be looked at by her doctor. If she likes to sit in the window, then maybe there is a chance that the peeling is due to sunburn (yes, dogs' skin can get sunburned!), but she should be evaluated by your vet to determine why her nose is peeling.
