Schnauzer Bumps

Scottie has been diagnosed with schnauzer bumps.  Wondering what they are!?  She was given cephalexin but made her sick and is now on Baytril.  Is it necessary to "poison" her with antibiotics?  Also have chlorhexiderm shampoo.  instead of completely immersing her to trt her with the shampoo can I apply it just to each bump,( about a dozen) and then rinse off with wet cloth? If these are the typical dark bumps over the top of her body, these are actually comedones, or blocked sebaceous glands.  Rather than use a shampoo and antibiotics (they are rarely infected), I use rubbing alcohol to help remove these oily secretions.
