dog has dry skin

Hi Ellen,
I have a chocolate lab who is constantly scratching and chewing on herself. I see dry skin all over her coat. Is this caused by cold weather? She is on purina one so I don't think the problem is the dog food. What can I give her to get some moisture in her skin?

Hi Ryan,

it can be a number of things:

FOOD ALLERGY- yes even if she is on Purina One.

All over body yeast infection

allergies

dry skin

fleas- you only need 1~

mange


my suggestion is to take her to the vet for an exam to rule the top out, if then it is OK, you can use fatty acid supplements. I like Bioten.
