Puppy is straining to poop

Question
Hello,
my 4 month old shih tzu puppy is having difficulty pooping since this morning.  It takes him about 5 minutes to poop, and he has trouble getting it all out.  He's up to date on all his shots, and is in perfect health otherwise, he just saw the vet on 8/6/08...and we have a 4 year old shih tzu in the house as well. The puppy has never had any problems going to the bathroom before this.  Is there anything I can do for him? Should I take him to the vet? Or should I wait and see if it'll clear up on its own?

Answer
Hi Rhea- yes, I have some help for the baby ...
Buy some canned pumpkin ( pure pumpkin) and give him 1-2 teaspoons per day, every day - good fiber and nutrition..

Next, make sure you get him on some NuVET Plus - this is great for his digestion, skin, coat, and overall Immune System.  It will cost you about .25 cents per day, he only needs 1/2 a wafer per day of the NuVET Plus -
Call Joan tomorrow and order:  1-800-474-7044 ext 265
Both your kids should be on NuVET Plus - This will keep them healthy and well for a lifetime.

Use Breeder/vet code 81098 - They can't sell without this order code...

I hope it helps...NuVET is not sold in any stores... call Joan.
Thanks
