Question
QUESTION: My 6 month old weimaraner has not been eating much and has been hacking up a foamy substance and also has green mucus coming from his nose.  He has been lethargic and not drinking much and also has had the runs.  Should we be concerned?

ANSWER: I would be concerned if he isn't vaccinated or has only had one or two vaccinations.
He is most likely harboring a virus but it could be anything from distemper to parvo. I would certainly get him into the vet's as soon as you can.
Lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea are all symptoms of parvo.
Call the vet's!

QUESTION: We got him from a humane society on the 5/6 in the paperwork it states that he had been neutered on the 5/3 and he is due for DHLPP (I don't know what that is) on 2/11/09.  It reads that he got all other shots?  Thank you for your help.

Answer
DHLPP is a Distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza and parvo vaccination.
I would still have him looked over and tested. If the humane society and not a vet did the injections there is a chance they were not well cared for and could have been someone ineffective for that reason.
One way or the other he needs to be seen.
