Vet?

Question
Thank you for your time with this column, just wondering why it is titled "Ask the Veterinarian" as this is misleading since you state very clearly in a number of places that you are NOT a vet.

Answer
Because there is no section for "Ask the Registered Veterinary Technician". :-)

So I answer questions as best as I can without diagnosing anything. I answer the kind of questions that our clients call the office about all the time yet the vet doesn't have the time or need to answer.

I am honest about not being a vet, not diagnosing and I do not push products or give false advice or pretend to have medical knowledge if I didn't. I have over 35 years of experience as a vet tech, have trained many veterinarians right out of college and have more continuing education credits than most veterinarians. I also have two current licenses, one in California and one in Oregon.

Does that answer your question?
