Cat swallowing

Question
My cat, (female, approximately 4 years old, rescued from a shelter about a year ago, 11.5 lbs) has been swallowing noisely for the last 24ish hours. When she swallows she sort of squeaks and, I can't tell for sure, but it seems like she is swallowing more than usual. Her left eye has been a little watery as well, it's a clear discharge and not a lot, but it is noticeable. She's also been sneezing a lot, and they've been more like real sneezes. (Not the normal kitty sneeze like they just got into some dust or something, these are a bigger sneeze.) She can't seem to fall asleep as a result of this (which is why I can't either!)

Answer
I am not sure what the question is in here- if she gets outside and eats birds and things she can get stuff caught in her throat way in the back, (we've seen bird legs hanging there before) and other things.

She could very well have an upper respiratory virus  too. Not knowing her vaccination history I can't tell.

Your safest course is going to be to get her into the vets for a look over and some antibiotics and most likely some sort of decongestant.

Don't try to medicate her yourself- this is how many owners accidentally kill their cats.

I hope she gets well soon but please let me know what the vet says.
