Question
I have two Q's. The first is that my bird laid four eggs and she does not have a mate, is this normal and what should I do? the second Q's it that the color of her beak is changing  and she does not closes her right wing close to her as she use to, are these a sign of sickness? Thank you for your time. Bye

Answer
Hi there!  Female birds do lay eggs even if there is no mate.  The male then would sit on the eggs to fertilize them.  Since there is no male, taking the eggs out as quickly as possible will help to decrease depression from your parakeet.
With her changes, I would definately suggest a calcium supplement like a Kuddle Bone and gravel in her cage at all times.  Laying eggs takes a lot of calcium and could cause a calcium deficiancy.  The Kuddle Bone and gravel will help build your parakeet's calcium.
I hope this has been helpful,
Hilary
