Question
Took Pepper to our vet on Friday and he stayed over night due to not eating, drinking, lethargic, and jaundice. The vet took whole panel blood work, x-rays, and IV fluids. The blood work showed elevated liver enzymes, kidney enzymes, and WBC counts. The x-rays didn't show any apparent obstructions. Pepper is on science diet k/d food, 2 antibiotics (I can't get him to take..even by mouth). He has started breathing heavy and rapid, still not eating or drinking. What else can I do..I have taken our previous dog to emergency vet clinic and they did nothing but send us to our vet the next morning for $700.00. He died 2 days later after surgery to remove a tumor. Went to emergency clinic on Sunday, our vet on monday, surgery on Tuesday and Brandy died on Wednesday. The emergency clinic also did x-rays and still nothing. Sorry, this isn't about Brandy. I don't want Pepper to suffer, but I don't think it is he's time yet. What can I do?

Thank You

Carla

Answer
Carlos -

Have your vet reevaluate your pet. You did not say how old your pet was - is he a geriatric pet or a young pet?  Unfortunately, I cannot offer suggestions because I have not examined your pet. Did your vet give you an explanation for your dog's condition? Talk with your vet and ask him/her why your pet is not improving.
