Beagles Eyes

Question
Hello,
I have two beagles and they both seem to be "crying" a lot. They have tears draining all the time. The tears are actually rather brown in color and are present most of the time. I asked our vet a few years back what this was and she referred to them as "Beagle eyes". She told me that the tube that normally would drain from the eyes down to the nose was not present. To verify this she put dye in her eyes and nothing came out her nose. So my question...is this a normal thing for Beagles? Are they all like this? And is there anything that I should be doing for this?
Thanks!

Answer
Sherri -

Have you had your Beagles examined by a veterinarian?  The vet can perform tests to determine why your dogs have an ocular discharge.  After examining your dog, the vet will give recommendations on what type of therapy will help to decrease the discharge from your dog's eyes.
