Strange skin bump

Question
Hi, I have a 14 year old min pin.  She is our first baby.  She is overweight (in the last couple years), and about 3 years ago we were told she has ovarian tumors on both sides.  She doesn't seem bothered by them so we leave them alone (we didn't want to risk a surgery she may not recover from due to her age).  Other than this she has been perfectly healthy and happy her whole life-- she is spoiled and still has energy.  I noticed a small pimple like bump a week and a half ago.  I have seen these come and go before, and her vet was never worried about it.  Said all minpins get these on occasion.  This one, after 4 days had doubled in size, and now about a week later it is the size of a pencil eraser and starting to split and flake-- almost resembles an artichoke.  It is on the top of her head, just in front of her ear.  It seems somewhat tender, but not painful.  If you don't mind let me know what you think it is.  I can send a picture if you'd like.  We just moved into a new area and have not found a good vet for her yet.  Thanks for any help/information you may have.

Answer
If it looks like an artichoke, I would think of a papilloma or a skin tag.  These are benign and can grow rapidly. In that area, while small, these are easily removed using a local anesthetic under the growth, cutting it off, and suturing it back together.
