Gingivitis

Binky is my 16 yr old sweetheart. He has had gingivitis since age 8 and has seen a vet. His vet very recently passed away and we will never see such a dear person as he again. I dont feel comfortable with the new vets there. Bink is getting steroid shots at another vet, yet he  has pain after one and a half weeks, but the shot works till it wears off. Can you advise something at home that I can do for my cat till he sees the vet for the next shot? He eats canned cat food that is shredded meat in gravy and it is gravy to the last bite. Raw burger is  tolerated, even tho I hand feed it. Yes, he is spoiled!! He wont eat today so I know he is hurting again.I have been feeding raw ground turkey today.

Oh Trish, I am so sorry about your VET passing away.  Wow, your 16 year old Binky cat out lived the Vet.
I just don't know what to tell you for pain relief.  You are doing a great job caring for this little one!

Call and ask if there is anything else by prescription, that can be ordered.  Very limited ideas for cat pain releif.
