Cat Problems

Question
My cat isn't very old, and in the past couple months he has came over with this sickness. We don't know exactly what it is and we don't have the money for a vet. He is drooling, he stops eating and drinking. He can't walk right, he loses balance and at one point in time he walked around the perimeter of our kitchen like he as blind and can't see anything. He acts all funny like this and then less than 24 hours later he can be fine and act like a normal cat. We've thought about putting him out of his misery but he keeps fighting. Do you know what this could be we've been told it may be a absesed tooth but I don't know.

Answer
This is clearly something that a vet needs to treat. Your cat is having either an inner eat problem such as an infection, or he has a growth of some sort in his inner ear, his throat or in his ear canal.

Maybe thing can cause this that are not related to the ear, and an abscessed tooth can be a cause but rarely do cats get infections in their teeth like this. The can get foreign bodies into tooth sockets, such as foxtails, bird claws etc.
They can have things get caught in their teeth that can rot, such as the ones I just mentioned.

Regardless of what the cause is, he needs to be seen by a vet a treated. Any thing less then that would be considered neglect. When we own animals as pets we take on the responsibility of taking care of them 100%- including their medical needs.

Call your vet and make an appointment to get him seen as soon as you can. You might want to think about getting some pet insurance to help with the costs.
