QuestionAt what age can a kitten be neutered?
AnswerYou can neutered females starting at four months old but male kittens do better if they are not neutered until they are six months old. This way they seem to have less problems with urinary issues as their penile structures are allowed to grow to full size. '
I know that shelters across the country do juvenile neutering (ages 7 weeks and up) but in MY own personal opinion and in the opinion of most long-time vets, juvenile neutering opens a Pandora's box to health problems later in life due to the animal not reaching maximum growth in the bones and brain etc. I get my females neutered at 5 months and my males at 6-7 months.
So that's your both sides of the coin.
