QuestionHello, my 2 year old outdoor tabby had hurt her tail, I assumed it was broken but it was'nt bothering her, she let me touch it, and there was no visible wound, so I just figured she was ok, and then this morning, from the hurt piont to the end of her tail (about 3/4 inch) had completely fallen off, she's still fine, eating, drinking, walking, and balancing/jumping just fine. The new tip of her tail is a bit red, but she let me put neosporin on it and she seems ok. Should I be concerned that she may die???
AnswerNo, she isn't going to die but she might get an infection in the stump of her tail. She needs to be on antibiotics to heal this. She should also see a vet since this is a big trauma to lose a tail like that!
I would keep a close eye on her tail tip and keep smelling it as well to see if it's getting infected.
